Addis Ababa, November 9, 2020 (FBC) – An Israeli team of experts will arrive in Addis Ababa today to help Ethiopia sustainably address impact of desert locust.
In an exclusive interview with FBC yesterday, Israeli Deputy Public Security Minister, Gadi Yevarkan, said lasting solution is required to avoid the devastating effects of locust on crops.
In order to mitigate the damage caused by desert locust, it is necessary to improve the skill of experts who are currently engaged in locust control activities, he said.
Yevarkan said the Israeli experts scheduled to arrive today will provide assistance and training on how to prevent locust before it causes damages to crops.
He further said Israel will continue providing support to Ethiopia’s irrigation development activities.
