Addis Ababa, April 25, 2022 (FBC) – Ministry of Irrigation and Lowland Areas has announced 338 million birr budget for drought affected areas in Somali Region.
The Ministry unveiled a rehabilitation project to be implemented in the region in order to mitigate the drought inflicted situation in an event held at Jigjiga town yesterday.
It is also indicated on the occasion that Somali Region will be provided with rehabilitating support through the project aimed to improve livelihoods of affected communities in lowlands of the region.
President of the Somali Regional State, Mustafa Omer, Irrigation and Lowland Areas Minister, Aysha Mohammed and other regional and national high level government officials have attended the event.
