Addis Ababa, October 7, 2023 (FBC) – The Joint Security Task Force announced that the 20216 E.C Irreechaa Hora-Finfinne festival celebration which was celebrated with special splendor in the capital city has ended peacefully.
The festival was attended by millions of people from Oromia region and other parts of Ethiopia, the Joint Security Task Force said.
Observed at the center of Addis Ababa since the dawn, the 2016 E.C Hora-Finfinne Irreechaa festival was attended by Oromo Abbaa Gadaas, Haadha Sinqees, government officials, invited guests and tourists from various parts of the country and neighboring countries.
The joint task force reminded that the peaceful celebration of the festival is of great importance to build the good image of the country and thanked all those who played their part in the peaceful celebration of the festival.
It was indicated that the residents of Addis Ababa city, the coordinators of the festival, the administrative bodies at all levels, welcomed the guests who came to the capital to celebrate the Irreechaa festival in a spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood in conformance with the values of the Gadaa system.
Owing to the round of the clock efforts of security forces together with the residents of Addis Ababa, the festival was celebrated in a completely peaceful manner, the Joint Security Task Force said.
Police further urged the society to continue collaboration with the security institutions so that the Irreechaa Hora-Harsade festival, which will celebrated in Bischoftu town on October 8, 2023, can be observed peacefully and colorfully.
