Addis Ababa, September 29, 2021 (FBC) – International Relief Agencies operating in Ethiopia have assented to immediately return humanitarian trucks stranded by TPLF rebels in Tigray region.
The assent came at a time international partners discussed with Ethiopian Peace Minister, Muferihat Kamil on on the ongoing humanitarian aid delivery process in the northern part of Ethiopia.
They also deliberated on gaps identified in reaching out to aid recipients in the Amhara and Afar regions and the immediate steps to be taken.
“Although there is a daily plan set to deliver aid to the Tigray region, it is impeded due to the trucks entered the region but not returned,” Muferihat said on the occasion.
The agencies stressed that shortage of trucks has inhibited the proper delivery of aid to the Tigray region.
It is reached to an agreement with the humanitarian agencies that they should take responsibility and ensure the immediate return of the trucks.
