Addis Ababa, October 1, 2020 (FBC) – Special Talent Development Institute has announced preparedness to start enrolling gifted students this academic year.
The Institute is established in a view to enroll talented and gifted students from all corners of the country in order to inject nation’s science and technology sector with competent youth workforce.
A conference focused at amassing necessary inputs for curriculum development to the gifted education program held today in Addis Ababa.
The Program includes students leaning from grade 9 to 12 grades and arranges a special opportunity for those who are out of schools to teach them in a private manner.
State Minister of Ministry of Innovation and Technology, Sisay Tola said the institute put in place a grade skipping system that promotes students irrespective of the regular promotion season.
According to the state Minister, the gifted education program encourages gifted and talented people to generate income and create job opportunities thereby accelerate the prosperity journey of the country towards a better position.
Sisay noted that the institute will put a foundation to create internationally competent inventors, scientists, and technologists to the world in the years to come.
Starting its first educational activity this year, the Institute will enroll one thousand students in the next academic year, the State Minister added.
