Addis Ababa, March 11, 2020 (FBC) –The Ethiopian Geospatial Information Institute (EGII) and the Land Bank and Development Corporation have signed federal landholdings mapping agreement.
The agreement was signed here today by Dr Tulu Beshah, Director General of EGII and Lensa Mekonnen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Corporation.
According to the agreement, EGII will take and identify satellite images and aerial photographs, while the Corporation is responsible for compiling information and make it available for the intended purpose.
Dr Abrham Belay, Minister of Innovation and Technology, said the agreement signed today will help the country to efficiently utilize its precious land resources.
The mapping federal landholdings will be commenced first in Addis Ababa and is expected to take 4-6 months for completion, it was stated.
