Addis Ababa, January 17, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Industry-Ethiopia (MoI) has announced that it is inspecting manufacturing industries in the Tigray region to resume operation following the return of peace.
Public Relations Director of the Ministry, Abeba Tammene, told Fana Broadcasting Corporate that concerted efforts are being made to swiftly resume operations of the manufacturing industries in the region that stopped production due to the recent conflict.
The Ministry’s officials are conducting a first round of inspection on the damaged manufacturing industries.
The Ministry’s delegation has also visited Mekele Industrial Park, Sheba Leather Industry, Samayata Marble Factory and other firms during their stay in the region, the PR Director said.
She indicated that the inspection will identify the damaged manufacturing facilities, the extent of damage, their current condition and the resources required to restore operations.
The Ministry’s officials are also consulting with investors, the industrial parks’ managers and stakeholders on the resumption of the industries, Abeba added.
