Indian PM vows to advance “valued partnership” with Ethiopia in his new term

Addis Ababa, June 6, 2024 (FBC) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that his government will work to further advance his country’s ‘valued partnership’ with Ethiopia during his third term as the leader of India.

The Indian Prime Minister’s words of commitment follow Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s congratulatory message to his Indian counterpart on a successful election that saw PM Modi re-elected for a third term.

Prime Minister Abiy emphasized in a message published on X that elections are a testament to the will of the people, demonstrating that the people are the true owners of power.

In a direct reply to PM Abiy’s message of felicitations on X, the incumbent Indian prime pinister thanked his Ethiopian counterpart for the best wishes.

“Thank you PM Abiy Ahmed for your warm words. As a valued partner in Africa and the Global South, India accords high priority to bilateral relations with Ethiopia. Will advance our valued partnership in my new term,” PM Modi noted.
