Addis Ababa, March 21, 2023 (FBC) – International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Ethiopia said it has vaccinated more than 2 million animals in Afar, Oromia and Somali regions.
The vaccination is aimed to boost livestock immunity against the most prevalent animal diseases, ICRC stated. According to ICRC, the vaccination has benefited nearly 62,000 households in the three regions.
The vaccination campaign is said to have been significant for livestock disease control, lower animals’ mortality rate, better quality of meat and milk and preservation of livelihoods for livestock farmers.
