December 24, 2023 (FBC) – High-ranking government officials including the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen have visited the Koisha Hydropower Project, the second largest hydroelectric plant in Ethiopia.
The dignitaries lauded Koysha Hydropower project which is also the third largest African hydropower plant as an exemplary green energy source and appreciated its progress as promising.
The Koysha Hydropower Project which is located near the Chebera Churchura National Park which has created many job opportunities for citizens during its construction process would propel the economic growth and facilitate more development opportunities in the country.
In addition to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen, Vice President and Head of the Office of Prosperity Party Adem Farah, Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives Tagesse Chaffo, Speaker of the House of Federation Agegnehu Teshager and Presidents of Regional States have participated in the visit to the Hydropwer project.
