Health Ministry dispatches voluntary youths to anti-pandemic battle

Addis Ababa, June 9, 2020 (FBC) – Ministry of Health has dispatched voluntary youths to anti-coronavirus pandemic battle in partnership with a charity organization named Project Hope.

The volunteers are graduates of different fields of studies from different higher education institutions in the country, according to Ministry of Health.

While conveying message to the volunteers, State Minister of Ministry of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma said defending coronavirus using only the medical workers unthinkable adding cooperation of the whole society is essential to combat the virus which is drastically spreading in the country.

The 34 youths who have taken training on COVID 19 prevention tasks are said to be deployed in areas like contact surveillance, logistics, and maintenance of machineries and operation of call centers.

They are expected to play a vital role in assisting medical workers of the country who are battling with the virus in several aspects, the Ministry said.
