Addis Ababa, April 28, 2023 (FBC) – The renovation work of the ancient Awberkhadle Awach village in Harari Region has started, Harari Region Communication Bureau confirmed.
The Chief Administrator of Harari Region, Ordin Bedri and the officials of the Authority for Research and Conservation of the Cultural Heritage of Ethiopia launched the renovation work, the Bureau said.
It is indicated that when the project is completed, it will be used as a museum as well as a reception for visitors.
Harari Region Chief Administrator Ordin Bedri stressed that it is important to properly care for and preserve such heritages and pass them on to future generations.
He mentioned that the heritage of Awberkhadle Awach village, which is more than 1,000 years old, has not been renovated for many years, adding that the renovation will be completed in a short time to develop the area.
