Addis Ababa, July 1, 2022 (FBC) – Haramaya University has distributed 17 million birr worth of seed to farmers affected by drought.
Vice President of Haramaya University for Research Affairs, Tesfaye Lemma (PhD) the seed donated by the institution will reach drought affected farmers in West and East Harerge zones of Oromia Region and Harari Region.
More than 34, 000 farmers are said to be benefiting from the support that includes 3,416 quintals of wheat, teff and maize seeds. The University announced that it has so far distributed seed worth 24.5 million birr to affected farmers in various parts of the country.
