Addis Ababa, April 22, 2022 (FBC) – Melaku Legesse, Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau presented his credential to Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
During the ceremony Ambassador Melaku highlighted that he would work to further deepening the bilateral relations of Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau on various sectors including education, health, culture and tourism as well as agriculture. The Ambassador further noted the encouraging developments since the opening of Guinea-Bissau`s embassy in Addis Ababa in 2017 in enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Melaku further briefed President Embalo the current situation in Ethiopia and the Government`s determination to maintain peace and stability as well as Ethiopia`s principled approached towards cooperation and regional integration.
On his part, President Embaló congratulated Ambassador Melaku and underlined his government`s readiness to support him in his endeavours. Underlying the good relations between the two sisterly countries, President Embalo also emphasized the need to enhance the relations between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral forums.
Expressing his admiration for Ethiopian Airlines, the President noted his country`s desire for experience sharing from Ethiopia and mainly to cooperate on capacity building in the aviation sector.
