Addis Ababa, June 13, 2024 (FBC) – U-Report, an innovative digital platform which is designed to empower adolescents, young people in Ethiopia, was officially launched today by various stakeholders in Addis Ababa.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Ministry of Women and Social Affairs (MoWSA), Ministry of Innovation and Technology (MInT), and Ethiopian Youth Council launched this digital platform.
The launching event was attended among others by Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD), Minister of Innovation & Technology, Belete Molla, UNICEF Ethiopia Country Representative, Aboubacar Kampo, representatives of the youth.
It is learned that U-Report aims to engage young people in shaping policies and decisions at all levels. It is stated that registered users can receive critical information, interact with engaging chatbots, and contribute to creating a better world for everyone.
U-Report is UNICEF’s digital community for young people, by young people, where they can raise their voices and share opinions on topics that matter to them.
