Addis Ababa, October 23, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Government Communication Service has released a statement praising the entire Ethiopians for showing solidarity and speaking out loud on the sovereignty of Ethiopia.
The full statement declared that Ethiopians officially announced today that they do not negotiate in their country’s sovereignty. [On October 22 and 23], with the mass public rally themed “We Speakout for Ethiopia” held in cities all over the country, Ethiopians raised their voices that they do not negotiate on the sovereignty and honor of the country.
In the mass public rally held by the people of Ethiopia in all the big cities of the country, the public made a statement it will not compromise the country to anyone and will not accept any external intervention on sovereignty. This voice of the people must be heard. The voice of the people is the voice of Ethiopia. Ethiopia is a sovereign country that does not want anyone to meddle in its internal affairs. Ethiopians have reconfirmed today that they will stand guard against the violation of the sovereignty of their country by any foreign power.
They also made their feelings clear carrying messages that remind anyone to respect the nation’s sovereignty. They called urged to end intervention and proxy war in the name of human rights. They confirmed that they will stand for Ethiopia in any situation, the statement continues.
Ethiopians protested the unjust approach and disinformation of some western countries, organizations, individuals and media on the war waged by the terrorist TPLF on the country. The people have officially declared that the interests and needs of the people of Tigray cannot be fulfilled by the TPLF. Instead, Tigrayans interests and needs can be fulfilled with the rest of people of Ethiopia. During the rally, Ethiopians also showed support and solidarity to the National Defense Forces to maintain the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
Demonstrators stated that the false accusations launched against the country by some Western countries, organizations, and leaders will not bring peace to Ethiopia. They also urged during the rally to Westerners to support the legitimate government of Ethiopia and condemn the terrorist TPLF.
This mass rally is a public demand that should be listened to. The people of Ethiopia have expressed their desire and are preparing to express it not only here but also abroad. Ethiopian diaspora in Europe, North America, and Australia are also unconditionally speaking out for their country.
Ethiopians at home and abroad have spoken about the demands of their country, and Western leaders should listen to this voice with all their open hearts. These demonstrations indicate that the people of Ethiopia stand together on national issues regardless of political views, economic status, religion and ethnicity. The public mass rallies are concrete evidence that, from juvenile to elders, there is no true Ethiopian citizen who negotiates on the sovereignty of the country.
The Ethiopian government is a legitimate government elected by the people and it would like to acknowledge the expressed demands of the people. Friends and foes alike should understand that the Ethiopian government has been declaring that it will not negotiate on the sovereignty of the country and its public interest.
