Addis Ababa, Decmber 8, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, stated that the Ethiopian government determined to continue unconditional efforts to ensure lasting peace in Ethiopia.
During his remarks at the 17th Ethiopian Nationalities Day at Hawassa Stadium, the Prime Minister reiterated that the government is committed to make Ethiopia the pride of Africans by ensuring peace and prosperity in all parts of the country.
Prime Minister Abiy said that efforts have continued to ensure lasting peace in all areas of Ethiopia.
He called on all Ethiopians to be hands and gloves to achieve lasting peace in the country. For this reason, Ethiopia can be a portrait of peace in Africa.
PM Abiy stated that Ethiopia is on the path of growth and prosperity. Hence, the challenges it faces in the process should not discourage citizens.
Realizing that the forces plotting for conflict and destruction will not rest, everyone must work diligently for the peace and unity of Ethiopia, he stated.
PM Abiy emphatically mentioned that it is the responsibility of all Ethiopians to be determined to record new victories that prove the country’s greatness by using the challenges on the road for hard work and strength.
The Prime Minister said that the nation’s eternal enemies should understand that they cannot even down Ethiopia. Their conspiracy to divide Ethiopians into small agendas has failed.
As Ethiopia has a strong defense force and a strong new generation of forgiveness and inclusion, the enemies’ conspiracy and agenda was foiled. However, if they try further, the nation is ready respond accordingly and that they will not succeed, he insisted.
The premier confirmed that Ethiopia will prove its prosperity and greatness by thwarting the plots and machinations of its enemies.
For this, he reiterated that the government will strengthen continued efforts until Ethiopia becomes the hub, pride, and destination of all of Africa.
He stressed that everyone should work together to hand over Ethiopia, which is the heart of Africa, strong and suitable for all, to the next generation.
Prime Minister Abiy also thanked the administration of Sidama region and Hawassa city for hosting a colourful event that expresses the unity of Ethiopians.
The 17th Ethiopian Nationalities Day is being observed in Hawassa with the theme of “National Unity for Sustainable Peace”.
