Gov’t delegation meets with community representatives in Dire Dawa

Addis Ababa, January 7, 2021 (FBC) –State Minister of Peace Firealem Shibabaw has held discussion with representatives of the community in Dire Dawa city.

Heads of zones and woredas, religious leaders, traditional elders and representatives of the Issa community attended the discussion focused on ways to maintain peace.

A few days ago, the delegation led by the State Minister had also similar consultations with heads and representatives of the community in Afar regional state.

During the discussion, Firealem responded to questions raised by the representatives and underscored the need to work towards building peace in their respective localities.

The State Minister also told them to stand united for rule of law and resolve differences through dialogue instead of using force when conflicts occur.

She further called on the community to send their children to school and assist Government’s efforts to expand potable water, road, health and other necessary facilities.

Firealem finally stated that the Government would provide support and take all the necessary steps to maintain and build sustainable peace in the regions.
