Government urges Diaspora to promote Ethiopia’s unique place in Islam

Addis Ababa, July 31, 200 (FBC) – Jimma city hosted the Eid-to-Eid Diaspora Consultative meeting that aimed to discuss Ethiopia’s contribution to the development of the Islamic religion.

In her remarks, State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, and also Chairperson of the  Eid-to-Eid Committee, Birtukan Ayano, called on the Ethiopian Diaspora to be aware of Ethiopia’s unique place in Islam and promote it to build the country’s image. 

Participants underscored that Ethiopians in the Diaspora need to understand the country’s religious, historical, and cultural values ​​to properly promote them to the world.

President of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, Director-General of Public Diplomacy,  Ambassador Dina Mufti, Deputy Director of the Ethiopian Diaspora Agency, Dr. Mohamed Idris and Mayor of Jima city, Najib Abaraya also took part in the meeting.
