Addis Ababa, November 24, 2021 (FBC) – Germany has reiterated commitment to enhance development cooperation with Ethiopia.
Spokesperson for German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, Jurgen Hart who discussed with President Sahle-Work Zewde on ways of enhancing ties between the two countries said that the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance is increasing due to the ongoing conflict in Ethiopia.
He said Germany is committed to enhance development cooperation to Ethiopia consolidating participation of donor countries and the European Union (EU) to this end.
The Spokesperson recalled that Germany has so far appropriated 100 Million Euro development cooperation to Ethiopia. “We are now committed to deliver assistance to people in need in Ethiopia,” he noted.
Ethiopia is one of the member countries of Compact with Africa (CwA) Program which is aimed at promoting private investment and trade in Africa.
