Addis Ababa, November 28, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, today held discussions with the Special Envoy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ambassador Wolfgang Dold, at his office.
The two sides exchanged views on a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern, notably emphasizing peace and security in the Horn of Africa.
Ambassador Mesganu reiterated that Ethiopia highly values its bilateral ties with Germany and commended its pivotal role in supporting Ethiopia’s economic development through various financial and technical assistance initiatives.
He underscored Ethiopia’s commitment to fostering peace, stability, and economic integration in the region, reinforcing the country’s proactive stance in mitigating security challenges and promoting development.
Special Envoy Ambassador Wolfgang Dold reaffirmed the German government’s commitment to providing ongoing technical assistance to Ethiopia, particularly in the area of economic development.
He also praised Ethiopia’s significant contributions to peacekeeping efforts, according to the MFA Ethiopia.
The two sides agreed to further enhance their bilateral and multilateral cooperation through political consultations, building on 120 years of diplomatic relations.
