Addis Ababa, November 2, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced that the line maintenance and inspection work to connect the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD) power transmission line with the national grid will start in a few days.
EEP revealed that the power transmission line will cross more than 30 woredas of Oromia and Benishangul Gumuz regions before entering the main grid in Addis Ababa.
He also called on the security forces of the regions and the entire population to collaborate during line maintenance and testing.
On the other hand, the preparations for Ethio-Kenya’s electricity sales have been completed. The sale of electric power to Kenya will start in the next few days, EEP said.
Based on the agreement signed between the two countries, 200 megawatts of power will be supplied in the first sale.
It is to be remembered that the power purchase agreement was signed last August.
