Addis Ababa, December 24, 2022 (FBC) – Gadaa Bank Share Company officially inaugurated and commenced its services today in compliance with the guidelines of the National Bank of Ethiopia.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the chief administrator of Oromia region, Shimelis Abdisa, the governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), Yinager Dessie, senior government officials, Abbaa Gadaas and religious leaders.
The opening event was also held in the Gadaa Bank’s own building near Gotera area, in Addis Ababa.
Gadaa Bank’s CEO, Wolde Bultu, said at the same time that the bank has started operations with a paid-up capital of 552 million birr by more than 28,000 shareholders.
ENA’s report indicates that the Bank has completed arrangements to begin services to its customers in 30 branches.
