Addis Ababa, October 20, 2020 (FBC) –A consultative forum on human rights issues in Ethiopia and the role of institutions is currently taking place in Addis Ababa.
Organized by the Ethiopian Human Rights Council (HRCO), the meeting attracted representatives from political parties and media, according to ENA.
In the meeting, the current media freedom and reforms undertaken by the government were seen as a good beginning.
On the other hand, lack of coverage to violations of human rights and law enforcements’ failure to fulfil their responsibilities were mentioned as weaknesses.
The meeting also underscored the need to pay due attention towards saving life during conflicts instead of blaming others.
