Addis Ababa, August 8, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie, met today with the U.S. Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, Uzra Zeya, and discussed a range of bilateral issues, including human rights, security and development.
They also exchanged views on Regional matters including the Sudan and Somalia.
The Under Secretary noted the importance of the recent macro economic measures taken by the government of Ethiopia.
Note that Under-Secretary Zeya arrived in Addis Ababa today for a working visit. During her stay in Addis Ababa, she is expected to meet with to meet with government and civil society leaders on the protection of human rights, transitional justice, and humanitarian cooperation.
Under-Secretary Zeya confirmed in a post her X, formerly twitter that she met and held a discussion with Minister of Justice, Mr. Gedion Timothewos. During their conversation, the two officials discussed issues pertaining to promoting peaceful dialogue, human rights, and access to justice for all Ethiopians.
