Addis Ababa, September 29, 2024 (FBC) – Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, met with Lord Collins of Highbury, UK Minister for Multilateral, Human Rights and Africa, on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Foreign Minister Taye briefed Lord Collins on current developments in the Horn of Africa and affirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to peace, development and regional integration.
Lord Collins, on his part, highlighted the importance of focussing on economic development as a vehicle to promoting regional integration.
The two ministers underscored that lasting and sustainable peace in the region guarantees flourishing of trade and attracts investment inflows to the region.
Foreign Minister Taye and Lord Collins agreed to continue their discussion in the near future, as per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
