FM Gedu bids farewell to outgoing Finnish Ambassador

Addis Ababa, June 25, 2020 (FBC) – Foreign Affairs Minister Gedu Andargachew has bid farewell to the outgoing ambassador of Finland, Helena Airaksinen today.

Gedu has extended gratitude to Ambassador Helena Airaksinen for she has exerted unreserved efforts to bolster the bilateral relationships between Ethiopia and Finland during her four years tenure.

The longstanding ties between the two countries has continued to grow better despite the coronavirus pandemic through an active role plaid by the outgoing ambassador, Gedu said.

The minister also expressed his conviction that the cooperation in between the two nations will transform in to a higher level.

Ambassador Helena Airaksinen, to her part, recalled the activities undertaken to deepen the bilateral ties between Ethiopia and Finland in multifaceted areas of cooperation.

She pledged commitment to play her share in further transforming the relations among two nations through her future careers in her country.

“Ethiopia has registered promising transformative changes over the last years”, Ambassador Helena Airaksinen said appreciating the responsive efforts being carried out to curtail the spread of the virus in the country.

Finland is commited to continue its support for Ethiopia’s endeavors in all sectors, the Ambassador reiterated.
