Addis Ababa, August 4, 2022 (FBC) – The First National Internet Governance Forum has kicked off in Addis Ababa in the presence of high level government officials, members of the diplomatic community and representatives of international organizations.
The Innovation and Technology Ministry said the national event is part of the 17th Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Ethiopia is preparing to host in the coming December.
The forum is taking place in hybrid format accommodating participation of stakeholders onsite and online under the theme “Internet for Inclusive Development.”
According to the Ministry, the forum is discussing major agenda topics such as “Social and Economic Benefits of Internet, “Equitable and Meaningful Internet Access” and “Access of Internet as Basic Rights”, among others.
