Addis Ababa, November 8, 2024 (FBC) – The transportation of soil fertilizer for the 2024/25 Ethiopian fiscal year growing season has commenced, Ethiopian Agricultural Businesses Corporation (EABC) confirmed today.
Accordingly, Ethiopian ship known as MV Abay II, which loaded 472,500 quintals of urea fertilizer, has docked at the Djibouti port, the Corporation said. It was indicated that the Corporation has procured 23 million quintals of soil fertilizer for the 2024/25 cultivation season,
More ships loaded with fertilizers will arrive at the port of Djibouti in the next few days and the work of transporting them into Ethiopia will start soon, EABC disclosed.
It is to be recalled that 1.3 billion US dollars has been approved by the government for the purchase of 23 million quintals of urea and DAP soil fertilizer for the 2024/25 crop season.
