Addis Ababa, April 27, 2020 (FBC) – The Oromia Agricultural Cooperatives Federation has purchased 1.3 billion liters of pesticides for the upcoming agricultural practices.
Deputy Manager of the federation, Alemayehu Teshome said the chemicals purchased by the federation comprise 16 types of pesticides like insecticides and anti-wheat leaf rust.
The chemicals will be distributed to farmers in the region with affordable prices for the upcoming agricultural practices, Alemayehu indicated.
The pesticides procured incorporate chemicals such as Pallas – 45 OD herbicide, Nativo Osis 300 fungicide and Gallant Super, useful protective chemicals for crop production.
The chemicals will be distributed via 65 cooperatives operating in Oromia region, and accessed by more than 7 million farmers, it was learned.
