Addis Ababa, February 26, 2023 (FBC) – A 50 member Ethiopian parliamentary delegation led by Mihretu Shanko Gidi has returned home after completing a three-day experience sharing visit to the Indian Parliament.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, house speakers of regional states’ parliaments were part of the delegation.
The exchange of experience pertaining to substantive and procedural issues of the Indian parliament, according to Shri V. Muraleedharan, India’s Minister of State for External Affairs, will have a significant contribution to further enhance bilateral relations of Ethiopia and India.
Ambassador Gebeyehu Ganga, Director General of Middle East, Asia & Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, stated that the experience sharing would scale up bilateral ties.
He recalled and appreciated India’s support for Ethiopia’s sovereignty despite challenges at the UN Security Council.
