Federal Police issue arrest warrant for 10 former Addis Ababa police officers

Addis Ababa, December 7, 2020 (FBC) –The Federal Police Commission has issued an arrest warrant for 10 former members of the Addis Ababa police commission.

Leaving aside the responsibility given to them by the government and the people, they committed treason and human rights abuses by taking mission from senior TPLF leaders based in Tigray regional state, the commission said.

They took part directly and indirectly in plans of anti-peace elements to incite violence and in activities that jeopardize the constitutional order, the commission indicated.

According to a statement from the commission, warrant of arrest was issued for the following police officers:

2. Commander Hailemariam Berhane G/ Mariam
3. Deputy Inspector Kibrom Gebru G/ Egziabher
4. Deputy Inspector Aregawi G/ Hiwot Asfaw
5. Assistant Inspector Geza’e G/Hiwot G/Silassie
6. Assistant Inspector Tesfa Kiros Gidey
7. Assistant Inspector Araya G/ Anania Kidanu
8. Assistant Inspector Solomon Wolay W/Abzgi
9. Chief Sajin Hailay Woldu G/Mariam
10. Chief Sajin Haftu Kahsay
