Addis Ababa, March 6, 2023 (FBC) – Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) and the Russian media outlet, Sputnik News Agency, have signed a memorandum of understanding, allowing them to work together in several spectra.
The parties intend to exchange news content and implement joint projects. Fana Broadcasting Corporate CEO, Admasu Damtew, and Sputnik Director for International Cooperation, Vasily Pushkov, signed the document in an online ceremony.
Following the signing, FBC CEO Admasu Damtew noted that FBC is delighted to have reached such an agreement with Sputnik.
He underscored that the new agreement will enable the two media outlets to work in cooperation in the areas of content swapping, capacity building, and technical support. FBC will also benefit from such cooperation, the CEO said.
In addition, the MoU will also play a part in further strengthening the people-to-people relationship between Ethiopia and Russia, Admasu underlined.
Vasily Pushkov, for his part, emphasized that cooperation with FBC is a major priority for Sputnik.
“We are especially delighted to sign such a memorandum during the year when we mark the 125th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Russia,” he added.
