Addis Ababa, June 27, 2024 (FBC) – The European Union today handed over 18 vehicles to the Ministry of Justice in the framework of its support to the Criminal Justice Reform in Ethiopia.
EU Delegation in Ethiopia a social media post confirmed that it is supporting the Criminal Justice Reform in Ethiopia with 15 million Euro (915 million Birr).
It is stated that the overall objective of the EU support is increased rule of law, respect for human rights and access to justice for all. The EU support also aims to enhance coordination, collaboration and cooperation between key criminal justice institutions; to increase effectiveness, efficiency, fairness and accountability of the criminal justice system as well as to improve access to justice for all, in particular the poor, women and children in vulnerable situations.
The vehicles were handed over to Gedeon Timothewos, Minister of Justice, by Dr. David Krivanek, Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the European Union to Ethiopia, in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Justice.
