European Chamber in Ethiopia makes a policy brief aims to improve business environment, attract investments

Addis Ababa, April 25, 2024 (FBC) – European Chamber in Ethiopia has made policy brief focusing on local business environment, and proposals to improve it and attract more investments to Ethiopia.

Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Hana Arayaseslassie, EU Ambassador in Ethiopia, Roland Kobia and high ranking government officials have attended the policy brief session.

Recommendations that are said to address challenges in tax administration, translation of legal documents and improve companies’ auditing processes, among others, have been raised during the event.

The policy brief also includes recommendations to the government that would help improve Ethiopia’s tax administration system.

The European Chamber aims to contribute to the efforts to create a conducive ecosystem for local and foreign and investments, attract more investments and generate economic growth in Ethiopia, said EU Ambassador Roland Kobia.

The European Chamber in Ethiopia is an association of EU businesses operating in Ethiopia.
