Addis Ababa, August 25, 2022 (FBC) – The EU backed Health of Ethiopian Animals for Rural Development (HEARD) Programme has handed over veterinary cold chain equipment to the Ministry of Agriculture, in the presence of State Minister Fikru Gegassa (PhD).
The equipment will be used for veterinary outreach services (treatment and vaccinations) in remote areas of Ethiopia.
In another development, the EU has expressed commitment to support the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM).
In Ethiopia, the European Union supports the government to improve migration management by enhancing the existing legal framework on migration and migrant protection, with special attention to those who are victims of trafficking and other forms of exploitation, and reinforcing border management capacities.
The EU is contributing to Ethiopia’s efforts in strengthening inter-institutional coordination mechanisms to ensure effective identification, referral and protection of trafficked persons and vulnerable migrants, said the Office of EU in Addis Ababa.
