Addis Ababa, February 12, 2021 (FBC) -Ambassador Dr Desta Wolde-Yohannes took part in “Tourism Stakeholders Breakfast Meeting” organized by the Nairobi City County.

The meeting deliberated on the impact of COVID-19 on Urban Tourism and ways to revamp the sector during the pandemic.

The occasion created an opportunity to market Ethiopian Tourist Destinations and to engage with several tour operators.

In her address, Ambassador Dr Desta stressed that City Tourism has become an essential economic driver and considered an incubator of innovation and technology and a critical factor in urban economy and city development.

She also added that Nairobi and Addis Ababa are two of Africa’s most prominent cities with several tourist destinations offering a broad and heterogeneous range of cultural, architectural, technological, social and natural experiences and products for leisure and business.

Nairobi and Addis Ababa have unique natural touches – the Nairobi’s Karura Forest and Nairobi National Park, and the newly built Addis’s Andenet and Entoto Natural Parks are the pinnacles of urban tourism in Eastern Africa.
