Addis Ababa, September 4, 2024 (FBC) – The Government of Ethiopia, which has registered tremendous achievements in various spheres over the past six years, has announced that “Pagumen,” the last 5 transition days before the Ethiopian New Year, will be celebrated with specific purposes
Government Communication Service State Minister Kebede Desisa told the media today that all the necessary preparations have been made to celebrate Pagumen, known as the “Thirteenth Ethiopian Month” at national level.
The “month” is like a bridge that carries Ethiopians to a new beginning, he said, reminding citizens to celebrate it in unity and peacefully.
He added that the five days are named after specific purposes that uphold the gained results and the efforts needed to expedite the achievements in the future.
Accordingly, Pagumen 1 (September 6, 2024) is designated a “Transition Day”;
Pagumen 2 (September 7, 2024) a “Reform Day”;
Pagumen 3 (September 8, 2024) a “Sovereignty Day”;
Pagumen 4 (September 9, 2024) a “Diversity Day”; and
Pagumen 5 (September 10, 2024) a “Day of the Future”
