Addis Ababa, December 7, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopians living in Türkiye established the Ethiopian Diaspora Community Association on December 5, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in Ankara.
On the launching ceremony, Ethiopians and friends living in Türkiye raise money for the rehabilitation of internally displaced citizens due to conflicts in the country.
Adem Mohammed, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Türkiye, said that members of the Ethiopian diaspora all over the world have shown their zeal for their country during the challenges.
He further praised the Ethiopian diaspora for showing solidarity and unity to all the national calls.
The Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the Ethiopians living in Türkiye for the immense support they are giving to their country.
Amb. Adem said that the established all-inclusive diaspora association will have great potential in terms of protecting the interests of its members and their country.
He emphasized that it would be more beneficial to have an organized structural union instead of individual efforts.
During the launching ceremony of the diaspora association, Ethiopians and friends living in Türkiye raised 397,600.00 Birr to support the internally displaced citizens due the conflict. An additional 116,600.00 Birr was also promised from the participants.
Ambassador Adem Mohammed presented a certificate of appreciation to the members of the diaspora and friends of Ethiopia living in Türkiye who participated in the fundraising event.
