Addis Ababa, August 19, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopians Christians are celebrating Buhe Festival with several religious rituals and traditional events across the nation commemorating the transfiguration of Jesus Christ at Mount Tabor.
In Debre Tabor Town of South Gondar Zone, the festival is being observed colorfully at Mount Tabor of Ethiopia in attendance of thousands faithful, high level government officials including the Industry Minister Melaku Alebel, artists and guests.
During the Buhe festival which falls on 19th of August, youths dress up with colorful clothes and travel door to door beating drums and singing traditional and religious songs as elders provide them with money and other gifts in reward.
At home, Ethiopian traditional fasting cuisines and drinks are served for the holiday falls on one of the days of the fast of the assumption of Saint Mary
