Addis Ababa, January 11, 2021 (FBC) –Ethiopian ambassador to Qatar, Samia Zekaria, has held discussion with Sudanese ambassador to Doha, Abdulrahim Al Sediq, on current issues.
They exchanged views on the law enforcement operation in Tigray, latest development on Ethio-Sudan border issues, GERD tripartite talks as well as ways to cement the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Samia on the occasion briefed the Sudanese ambassador on the law enforcement operation and the latest development in the northern part of the country.
The law enforcement operation is a domestic issue, said the Sudanese ambassador, adding the international community should assist Ethiopia’s efforts to restore damaged infrastructure.
Regarding the Ethio-Sudan border, ambassador Samia underscored the need to resolve the problem through dialogue and via the boundary committee established by the two nations.
The two sides also highlighted the importance of resolving GERD issues within the framework of African solutions to African problems, without the intervention of others.
At the end, the ambassador agreed to work jointly to toughen the relations between the two countries in the field of culture, tourism and investment.
In a related development, Ethiopian Ambassador to Kuwait, Abdulfetah Abdulahi met today Abdulhamid Ali AlFailakawi, Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs.
The two have discussed to strengthen bilateral relations and current pivotal issues in Ethiopia, notably the labor exchange agreements and current developments in Tigray regional state.
