Addis Ababa, November 7, 2022 (FBC) – Chiefs of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) and TPLF combatants met in Nairobi on Monday, 7 November.
The commanders’ talks began on Monday in Nairobi as part of the peace agreement, which calls for military leaders to meet within five days of the Pretoria agreement. Hence, Monday marks the fifth day and commanders meeting have begun in Nairobi. It ensures safety and expedites humanitarian flow to areas hitherto inaccessible.
They are expected to discuss the permanent disarmament of TPLF combatants in line with the Pretoria agreement.
Both sides have recently signed an agreement of a permanent disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of TPLF combatants.
The peace agreement signed under the auspices of the African Union is a big statement for the continent that Africa is definitely capable of solving its own challenges by itself.
Ethiopia has believed in African solutions for African problems since the the beginning and the AU-led peace talks process brought a new dawn to put a nail on the coffin of the conflict in the northern part of the country.
