Addis Ababa, December 31, 2024 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s House of Peoples Representatives (HoPR) has ratified the Health Service Administration and Control Bill during its 13th regular session convened today.
The house reviewed and endorsed the report and resolution put forth by the Standing Committee on Health, Social Development, Culture, and Sports concerning the bill.
Tadele Buraka, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee, presented the report and emphasized the bill’s importance.
It was noted that the bill was meticulously crafted with a focus on health service equity, accessibility, quality, and considerations of public interest, culture, and religion.
Following thorough discussions on the proposed bill, the House passed the bill with a majority vote, recording nine abstentions and one dissenting vote.
