Addis Ababa, November 22, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) Directorate of Cyber Operations has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Italian Defense Cyber Unit to collaborate on cybersecurity efforts.
During the MoU signing ceremony at ENDF headquarters, Colonel Hager Aschale, Director of ENDF’s Cyber Operations, stated that the agreement aims to foster collaboration in the cybersecurity domain and enhance the capacity of professionals working in this field.
In a social media post regarding the latest MoU, END noted that the agreement is beneficial for preventing cyber-attacks and producing qualified professionals in the cybersecurity sector, pointing out that cooperation with other stakeholders will continue to be strengthened to prevent cyber-attacks, which is a global threat.
Colonel Andrione, the Commander of the Italian Defense Cyber Unit, said: “We will work to implement the agreement between the two institutions to produce a human resource that can effectively utilize technology.”
It was further mentioned that this agreement is a significant step towards enhancing cybersecurity and building a stronger defense against cyber threats. It is expected that the collaboration between ENDF and the Italian Defense Cyber Unit will lead to the development of a highly skilled workforce in the cybersecurity domain, capable of protecting critical infrastructure and sensitive information from cyber-attacks.
