Ethiopian gov’t, UN reiterate commitment for immediate resumption of humanitarian aid to beneficiaries

Addis Ababa, 22 August 2023 (FBC) – The government of Ethiopia and the United Nations reiterated commitment intensify joint efforts for the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid to vulnerable communities, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia confirmed this evening.

This ministry confirmed the story in a joint statement released by the Government of Ethiopia and UN Country Team in Ethiopia.

After conducting constructive and productive deliberations with the United Nations Country Team, including the incoming UN Resident and humanitarian Coordinator, Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov and UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Country Representative, Michael Saad, a joint statement was issued, it is learned.

“The Government of Ethiopia and the UN Country Team are determined to deepen their partnership. We will continue working for inclusive and sustainable development in Ethiopia. We reiterated our commitment to intensify our joint efforts for the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid to vulnerable communities, the joint statement reads.
