Addis Ababa, November 29, 2024 (FBC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, has held discussions with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Noël Barrot, this evening.
On the occasion, Foreign Minister Gedion emphasized the growing partnership between France and Ethiopia, highlighting strengthened collaboration in areas such as education, investment, and energy supply.
Gedion noted France’s role as a key development partner, citing France’s support in the restoration of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, the renovation of the Jubilee Palace, and the construction of healthcare facilities as exemplary contributions.
Addressing the press about the discussions between the two ministers, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Nebiat Getachew, stated that the talks included an exchange of views on both bilateral and global issues of peace and security.
The Spokesperson also remarked that the French Foreign Minister’s visit reflects the high importance the European nation places on its relationship with Ethiopia.
