Addis Ababa, February 13, 2020 (FBC) –Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedu Andargachew received today Michael Raynor, U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia.
They discussed ways to enhance bilateral and international cooperation between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
Ambassador Raynor briefed Gedu on the preparations being made to welcome U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who will visit Ethiopia from February 17-19.
During his visit, Pompeo will meet with PM Dr Abiy Ahmed and President Sahle-Work Zewde to discuss joint efforts to promote regional security and to support Ethiopia’s historic political and economic reform agenda.
Pompeo will also meet with African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat and deliver remarks.
