Addis Ababa, May 18, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopian Electric Service has managed to save 571 Kilowatt Hour of electric energy by applying successful leakage control mechanisms over the past nine months.
The electric power saved during the last nine months amounts to more than 135.8 Million Birr, according to the Electric Service.
Utility has applied energy theft and fraud reduction and avoided long used and impaired malfunctioning electrical meters and other equipment to cut the power leakage properly, it is stated.
Ethiopian Electric Service (EES) has brought into service more than 2,000 world-class CMRI meter reading devices and finalized preparations to install close to 50,000 smart meters to fill the gaps in meter reading.
