Addis Ababa, July 6, 2024 (FBC) – The engagement of Ethiopian and Ethiopian origin diaspora community across the globe in their country’s multifaceted development endeavors has been growing following the reform, Foreign Affairs State Minister Birtukan Ayano remarked.
The State Minister made the remark today at a symposium organized as part of the celebration of the 26th International Harar Day.
On the occasion, Ambassador Birtukan said the Ethiopian diaspora communities are actively participating in the ongoing reform measures taken by the government to strengthen the peace and development of the country.
The diaspora has provided over 3.5 billion Birr in the last six years to support various development projects in form of cash and kind, she stated.
The State Minister said Harari diaspora community is one of the active participants of the Ethiopian diaspora and extended gratitude for their continued constructive engagement.
She urged the diaspora to further strengthen their support to the various national causes, as called by ENA.
Members of the diaspora, gathered from across the globe to attend the 26th International Harar Day and government officials, participated at the symposium held under the theme “Role of the Diaspora to Peace and National Prosperity.”
