Addis Ababa, January 30, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Labor and Skills, Ms. Muferihat Kamil, visited the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Bonn, Germany, on January 29, 2024.
Subsequent to her delegation’s sojourn to the UN Campus of the Center, the Minister of Labor and Skills, Ms. Muferihat Kamil, confirmed through a social media post that she engaged in deliberations with the Director General of the Centre, Friedrich Huebler, regarding the developmental initiatives being implemented between Ethiopia and Germany.
In the discussion, both sides expounded the support that UNESCO-UNEVOC is providing to the youth in their efforts to bring about comprehensive and sustainable economic growth and to enable them to meet their expectations and the opportunity to gain best practices in the field by being a member of the Center.
She also thanked Friedrich Huebler and his colleagues for their warm welcome and informative presentation.
The UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training is one of seven UNESCO institutes and centers working in the field of education. The International Centre is located at the United Nations Campus in Bonn, Germany and is financed by both UNESCO and the German government.
Considering the importance of a quality technical and vocational system to build a strong economy and a prosperous society, the center supports Member States in their efforts to strengthen and upgrade their TVET systems.
